biography
I fell in love with photography around the same time I fell in love with literature, in my early childhood in Mexico. I've worked in photography professionally since 1978, in promotion, photojournalism and art, either as a photographer, director, producer or editor.
In 1999 I left Mexico to live in Spain, in the coastal city of Gijón, where I created Nocturno to concentrate in stock photography, advertising and, above all, my personal creation.
I have published photos in Qué Leer, the daily El País and the Mexican magazines Revista de revistas and Innvisible. My work has been used in editorial, illustration and advertising pieces in countries such as Spain, Mexico, Canada, China, the United States, the Czech Republic, Brazil, Japan, Italy, etc. I have photographs in the advertising of the camera and lens manufacturers Canon and the electronics outlet MediaMarkt.
As a writer I have ten published books and I'm included in numerous anthologies and collective works in the American and European continents, mostly with short stories, besides having been a musician and actor. I'm a print and radio journalist, specializing in politics and scientific popularization, and a specialist in corporate communications. I have received literary prizes in Mexico and other countries, and the 1997 National Journalism Award conferred by the Mexican Journalists Club.
